Service Description
Join us for hands-on ceramics classes in a relaxed and supportive studio environment, where you are free to create what you like. This is not a class where everyone is told what to make: we introduce each technique, demonstrate it, and then support you as you develop your own ideas. The first three classes form an introduction to hand-building with clay: Class 1: Pinching technique — We make a bowl while learning how to shape clay by hand. Class 2: Slab technique — We make a plate and learn how to join pieces of clay together. Class 3: Coiling technique — We make a vase while learning how to build with coils. For each class, we demonstrate the technique and guide you through the process. You can then use that technique to create whatever you want. From Class 4 onwards, you bring your own ideas and we begin with the easiest project for your current level. As you progress, we learn how to combine the techniques introduced in the first three classes and explore new techniques according to the projects you want to create. Classes are suitable for complete beginners as well as those with previous experience. You can book a single class to try it out, or choose the four-class monthly option for a more consistent practice.
Cancellation Policy
Booking Policy for Classes at Meltemi Creative Areas Class Registration and Payment Enrolment in any weekly class is confirmed upon payment of the required deposit at the time of booking. Spaces are limited, and registration operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Payments can be made via credit/debit cards, PayPal, or other methods provided during checkout. Cancellations and Refunds If you need to cancel your booking, please notify us in writing: More Than 48 Hours Before the Class: You may reschedule your booking (subject to availability) or receive a refund, minus a €10 administrative fee. Within 48 Hours of the Class: No refunds will be issued, but you may reschedule to another class of the same value, subject to availability. No-Show or Same-Day Cancellations: No refund or rescheduling is available. If Meltemi Creative Areas cancels a class, you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer your booking to another session. Rescheduling Rescheduling requests must be made at least 48 hours before the class. Rescheduling is subject to availability. Attendance Please arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled start time to ensure a smooth session. Late arrivals may miss important instructions and will not be eligible for rescheduling or refunds. Class Materials The class fee includes all basic materials and tools required for the session. Additional materials for customised projects may incur extra costs. Students may bring their own materials or tools; however, this will not reduce the class fee. Health and Safety All participants must follow the studio’s safety protocols, including proper use of tools and adherence to hygiene standards. If you are unwell, please notify us as soon as possible, and we will do our best to accommodate a reschedule. Photography and Media Meltemi Creative Areas may photograph or record sessions for promotional purposes. By booking, you consent to the use of your image. If you prefer not to be photographed, please inform us before the class begins.
